I am back again

A few weeks ago, I decided it was time to try to sew again. The under arm movement wasn't too bad so into the sewing room I go. The old Elna had been playing up, so I fiddled and fiddled trying to get the tension right. I was sure it was cotton stuck in the bobbin case somewhere. ( Have since found out the needle was back the front, well D'oh!). So decided to get out the spare machine I have. It has been so long I had forgotten how to use it.
So I set it on the table and was looking up something in the sewing machine manual, when all of a sudden off the machine went , like a race horse in the Melbourne cup, sewing by itself.
The smell was awful!!!!! Like burning old sox. So here I was with he will and no way.
So My dear man suggested , I use some of the money I have been holding on to to buy a new machine. So out to Esmes we go and I come home with a new you beaut sewing machine. It threads itself and has many speeds and is light and sews like a dream. (I am in love with it) it is so quiet I even sew in the lounge room, in the warm. I have been very productive.
I made the quilt "circle of Friends"for Miss Milly , just 20 months too late .
I made it and quilted it on the machine. I am so proud of it . My first proper quilting!!

Then my dear daughter told us they were gettign a new puppy. Her name is Indy ( we have been baby sitting through the week, to help toilet train her. she is so good. Best baby I ever had. So Of course she needed a blanket. I had some Dalmation fabric left over from a cushion I made Al. So I just threw it together the night before we left, it wont win any prizes but it is her blanket and It looks better in real life than this. (She has a big brother Beau at home) The weather has been so cold and windy too , so needed to be kept warm.

The next day off we went to get Indy and here she is .

She sleeps with the tongue out, she barks and sucks and runs all in her sleep.

I think we like her a bit dont you?

WOW WHERE HAS TIME GONE

It has been a while. Too much life. Radiation kind of did things to me that made me leave the human race for a while. Example Sleeping , yes it is possible for me to sleep 18 to 20 hours a day. I am just starting to wake up at 10 am. Some days I can do it earlier if I really have too, but I am to be seen hugging the couch most nights. So just keeping up with day to day things like laundry and sleeping in a clean bed are a priority.
Enough, I don't want to revisit there. It was all too hard.
But soon I will be doing the Doctors revisits to see what they have to say. I am feeling better. I have a bad back ( ruptured disc) and a knee that needed a choritisone injection, and joy I could walk without pain. But of course t his is all due to me being a big girl. Just ask the Doctors. What do you tell he skinny people who have these problems. "They have them for different reasons""
Oh really so why cant I ?? Cause you are overweight.
So if you are over weight loose it. as even a cold is blamed on being over weight.

I am back. sitting in the sun, sewing again after a log long time of not . James is getting an electirc wheel chair. soon, so I wont have to push him any more >>I hope . if we can get it in the van of course.
Life is good , love my kids , and my grandbabies. They make me happy. I am blessed!!

Christmas Surprises

I have been lucky enough to have some of Mothers old fashioned Christmas Lillie's that last for ages and smell so good.

I was sitting in the garden recovering from pulling out some grass, get tired these days from radiation treatment on the breast cancer so have to sit and recover a lot
When I saw what I thought was cellophane paper . when I investigated I found to my delight this lily. Well I think it is . I don't remember planting it but I love it . If I had planted it I would have put it in a different place I am sure. If anyone knows the name please tell me .

To Hobart Just because

James and I decided for our 9th Anniversary we would have a few days in Hobart, My childhood Home. Home for me until my parents passed away. This is the first time I went to Hobart because I wanted to go. Had not reason to go . Just because.

This is my beloved Mount Direction. I walked up the right hand side aged about 14 with a couple of friends. This was the view from our bedroom window. I loved its moods and colours. I hated it when fire threatened it. The views from the top were my first experience of real views, love the memories.

We also visited the childhood home, it is rather different now. Dad's precious sheds have gone. and a better view of the house is had. Memories. The window showing white was my bedroom.

This is the actual view from my bedroom window, my mountain, there always , when I was happy , sad, sick or well. I loved to wander in the bush and look at her , She is steadfast and always there .

They have changed the name of the street we lived in too , It is now Church point. Mmm interesting . I like t he history of Gregson Street, after Mr Gregson who settled at Risdon at the time of first settlement. The little church came much later. Although it has convict bricks in the foundation.

The lovely look of federation houses and Mount Wellington again. a view from our hotel.

Hobarts Sunsets are wonderful to see.

My happy husband on a Safari bus telling a Domadary he is friendly . WE had a lot of fun at ZooDoo in Tea Tree

We enjoyed the feeding of the animals and James now wants a Kangaroo as a pet. I dont think so some how . For some reason he didnt ask for a Devil

The Emus and Ostriches we fed by us holding a white paper bag of chaff, and prepared food, James' Ostrich swiped his whole bag of food bag and all and proceeded to eat the whole bag. Much to every ones delight. We had a ball and I think the animals did to

There are Tigers and Lions too see another time
Some cute birds and monkeys to see to. I ran out of battery in the camera , so was shut down from taking too many pictures.
